@Andrew Choi you might want to do a little more research around the BP website. These questions are very broad and could take many, many pages of answering for someone to fully answer them. I am new to REI as well but a good start is using the resources on this website. You will want to learn everything you can before you go out and start actually flipping houses. Best place to start now while you are educating yourself would be to start driving around and looking at houses in your neighborhood (or the one you want to invest in). Find out what they are selling for. Start going to your local REI meetings. Making connections is a major part of this business and if you want to start flipping houses you will need to find buyers.

That's a good place to start. Ultimate Real Estate Investors Guide is a great read as well.

congrats @Brandon Hall I am also a CPA looking to make the leap into real estate but only on the investment side. I came from the auditing side, I do not have any experience in the Real Estate Accounting world. Very awesome that you have been successful at both. Glad to have joined this BP community and look forward to where it will take me.

@Brandon Johnson have another event i had previously committed to Tuesday so I won't be able to make it. I will certainly be there in the future. I am thinking of starting in wholesaleing or renting out single family homes. I noticed you have done several deals in your first year. do you use any real estate agents in town that you would recommend? i've talked to about 20 "investor agents" but none have really impressed me. just want to sign me up for their MLS emails.

Thanks Robert. Will do that. I've seen the RING in my research but have been unable to attend a meeting so far. Will go next week.

Hey y'all. My name is Cap White. My wife and I have recently decided to take the plunge into real estate investing. We started with reading books (rich dad, poor dad; Ken's ABC of real estate investing, Cashflow Quadrant, etc...) I have also found several podcast that I follow including BP, which is how i found this wonderful website! I am leaning toward starting with single family rental houses and moving up to multi-family from there. All plans are subject to change.

We live in Baton Rouge, LA and are completely new to this. We are striving to become financially free and have decided to use real estate as our vehicle. I am currently in sales (selling 18 wheelers) and my wife has the hardest job of rearing our 2 year old.

I am looking to expand my network and meet some other people in the area. We don't have a ton of cash to start off with but do have some and that can change any given month depending on how I do at my sales job.

Through my sales career I have greatly valued mentors and am looking to find a few mentors in real estate through BP. I think there is a tremendous amount of opportunity in Louisiana and would love to be able achieve our dreams. Please feel free to ask me anymore questions.

Thanks in advance.
