Hi @Alex Oak, I'm at the exact same point as you are in my REI journey here in the Tampa Bay area. I also have the podcast bug and am trying to learn as much as possible at this point. I would be interested in meeting with you to maybe brainstorm. I have reached out to @Adrian Smude but haven't been able to get up with him yet. I have just recently started listening to @Gavin Welch podcasts and wouldn't mind having a sit down with him also. I'm really excited and trying to put together a marketing plan at this point. I'm leaning towards trying to do some wholesaling in the beginning and graduating into other areas. Feel free to contact me.

Looking to attend my first REI meetup in Tampa, FL area. Looked on meetup.com and found a few differnet groups there. Anyone recommend any of these groups or others?

Newbie in the Tampa Bay area looking for help in finding a RE attorney. Would really like to work with someone who is very knowledgeable in the REI realm. Since I'm just starting out would also love any and all recommendations for other team mebers, i.e contractors, plumbers, electricians, etc. I would like to focus primarily in the southern Hillsborough County and Pasco county areas. Newbie investor looking to purchase first duplex and I'm looking or information concerning section 8 in the Tampa, FL area.

Hello DP, newbie looking to purchase my first duplex (1700sq ft, block construstion, asphalt shingle roof, approx $100K purchase price) and was wondering what type of insurance coverages and limits should I need?  My agent is quoting me:

Fire hazard policy with replacement cost at $203K (approx. $120sq/ft)

Personal Property - $10K (wouldn't think needed, only a few appliances value <$1500)

Liability - $300K - this is the biggest ?? I have

Medical Payments - $3k - Needed??

Fair Rental Value - $20,300 - This cover loss of use??

Hello BP, newbie looking to buy my first property.  I live and work in the Tampa Bay area.  Been looking at the Hillsborough county foreclosure auctions and was wondering if anyone has any advice, insight, experience into this arena? Seems to me that the banks are primarily buying back these properties. Does this create an opportunity to then purchase these as REOs? If so, what's the best approach.

Hi Nicholas, Just want to thank you for starting this thread because I also am a newbie and I'm thinking along the same lines as you are as to my approach to getting into REI.

I'm very pleased to see the incredible amount of response you've gotten on this forum and am encouraged by the other members here.

I am curious and would like to ask the others if there is a REI club in the Tampa Bay area?
