What are some questions you wish you had asked your conventional lender when you first started? Beyond the financial terms, are there parts of the process that surprised you? Lastly, how were you able to establish a positive relationship for both of you? I am in the process of talking to lenders and I want to be as prepared as possible.

Hi my name is Canaan and I am at the start of my real estate investing journey. I have spent the last few years out of college doing data analysis and visualization in Washington DC but have returned to my roots in Martin County, Florida. I was introduced to Bigger Pockets by my cousin who listened and was able to rehab and Airbnb a SFH in MC. I am hoping to take my skills in data analysis and apply that to real estate investing along with his expertise in home improvement. Really looking to grasp the numbers side of investing and analyzing deals. Of course there's always the financing part to worry about but hoping to ace the basics first!
