@Don Petrasek I cannot thank you enough for the statistically grounded perspective and recommendations.

I have been trending towards the A and B type properties in the short term with my work schedule and to get the ball rolling. In the long term, I do want to diversity as well as work on the badass part (far from there now). There are a handful of neighborhoods in south west Cleveland that I have done some analysis of - C and D properties- to invest in down the road and potentially utilize the BRRR method.

@Robert Matelski very helpful and feel you on the Cleveland winter! I went shopping yesterday and felt like I was preparing for war.

As for the Columbus peddling, I definitely see what you mean. Fortunately I am used to it as I went to Ohio State and get no shortage of perspectives from buddies in Columbus. Its definitely an interesting market with the population growth averaging in the top 3 - 5 for urban areas nationally but I completely agree with your sentiments: population growth isn't everything (i.e. Columbus is a massive city geographically so gotta take into account per capita metrics).

I will message you separately to continue the convo on Cleveland. Thanks again!

Hi all,

My wife and I recently moved back from the Bay Area (grew up on the East Side) and purchased a 2 bd 2.5 bath in Ohio City this Fall. Our plan is to hold onto this property and eventually rent (in 3 - 5 years). In the future, our plan is to invest in a Duplex on the West/South West Side (Brooklyn, Parma, etc.) in 2021.

I would love any thoughts on: approach/philosophy of investing in NE Ohio; perspectives on where the market is headed in Cleveland (from research it appears like a stable area that could even appreciate with systemic impacts of COVID); areas to consider moving forward.

Thanks so much!

Cam
