@Michael Guzik

Thank you for your response!

I would like to do buy and hold investments, rentals in the San Antonio and surrounding areas. My financial situation is alright I don’t have a tone of money laying around but I’m not stressing over bills. I would like real estate to be my full time job but I currently have 3 years left active duty Air Force to build op a large enough portfolio.

And I would like to get in real estate because I want to work for myself and motivate my self to be more successful, to have free time to enjoy life, and to eventually open a coffee shop of my own!

Thanks! Talk to you soon!

Good afternoon all!

So over the course of the last few weeks I have been attending the free webinars w/ Brandon Turner and it seems like every time we go over how to evaluate a property and determine if it is a good deal, which is awesome to learn and just fine tune every week!

thats where the problem presents itself though... I have been analyzing deals and a few have seemed like a real good first property for me! but the question I keep asking myself is where to go and how to get people that can help make me a real investor? I know of the traditional routes of going through a bank but I don't believe that is the best option, so I know there are private and hard money lenders but how do I go about finding them and presenting potential deals? Also, if I have a deal how do I go after it without already having the funds available, is there an way to start an offer without having the funds slated yet?

I am in the San Antonio and Austin area and I am really excited to find and start my investing journey but currently and stuck on square one, any advice helps Thank you all so much!!!

Afternoon!

@Will Pritchett I plan on doing mainly buy and hold but if I can find a flip or two in-between I would like to try that as well, I will definitely contact you if I have any questions thank you very much!

@Autumn Rankin Do you know if I would be able to view it without having a Facebook? I plan on starting this while in the USAF and hopefully having it replace that income in a few years, I would love to be able to sit down and talk with you sometime and hear about how you got started, Ill be back in the US from a deployment rather soon and hopefully be able to be more active on here, thanks talk to you soon!!

Good morning all!

I am a new investor currently deployed but expected to return in the near future, however there are a few things holding me back from jumping right into the mix of investing and I was wondering what some of yall did as your first step!

I am currently stationed at Lackland AFB in San Antonio and plan on investing in buy and hold investing anywhere from San Antonio to Austin, being deployed I have found a few like minded people who also want to get into investing and we have discussed everything from finding deals to funding them to forming LLC's as a safety net, but the first question that always comes up is where to start when we get back. I have realtors back home that can help me search for a deal, but I have questions like...

How do yall go about getting funding for your first investment?

Did you form an LLC righty away or wait until you had a sizeable portfolio?

Where did you go for your first lender?

How did you approach them and what did you present to potential lenders?

Did you secure funding from someone before buying an investment or wait until you found the deal to start investing?

How quickly did you scale up your investments?

I am aware everyone has their own story, but im wondering if there is a more advisable path than any other or anything specific to the San Antonio/ Austin market I plan on being in.

All input is greatly apprecitated and i plan on making this my full time income within a few years so please let me know what yalls experence is!

Thank You,

Hello all!

@Michael Duncan certainly! I have been in learning some of the ins and outs of the San Antonio/ Austin area since 2005 when my fathers PCS moved us to Del Rio, and if you've ever been to Del Rio the first thing you learn is to get to San Antonio ASAP. I have lived in Cibolo since 2007 which is a suburb 10 minutes from San Antonio and have always loved traveling which is how I grew so familiar with an area as large as San Antonio / Austin. Let me know if you have any questions you think I could help in answering or if you need someone in the area to help you out, I still have a lot to learn so I'm sure I've got questions that need to be answered as well, Thanks!

@Chuck Gafford Glad to see I'm not the only one who thought this was the route to take! Ill be home soon and I would love to learn anything I can about this type of business and techniques and tricks you may have learned! If I can be of any help please don't hesitate to ask I'm here to learn and help others in this journey, Talk to you soon, Thanks!

Hello all!

I am a new member from the San Antonio looking at getting into real estate in and around the San Antonio, Austin, and Houston areas with everything in between! I am a 23yr old currently serving active duty in the Air Force at JBSA, however I am also from the San Antonio area so I have some knowledge about the area around there. A goal of mine is to be financially free by 30 and I know I can do this through investing if I'm willing to work hard enough at it! I have spent the majority of the first few months listening to every BP podcast and reading whatever real-estate and finance books I can get my hands on, as I am currently deployed its not the easiest thing in the world.

I would like to start investing in buy and hold real estate when I return from my deployment rather soon, and build as quickly and safely as I can, in order to get closer toward my goal of financial freedom. Currently while reading more than actually applying my knowledge toward investing, I plan to hit the ground running when I get back home.

I am very excited to meet everyone on here who also has the passion and motivation to turn investing into something great and I cant wait to get to meet you all in the near future!

That's all I've got for now, talk you yall soon!!
