I will never understand why people place their money in a jurisdiction where government treats small business with such disdain.

Invest your money in an area where the government doesn’t throw a drowning business owner cinder blocks. #1 jurisdiction in Canada would be Alberta by a hair, followed by Saskatchewan. There is no #3.

My primary residence has a suite in it so that's the only reason I will be renting out to someone.

This is still pretty fresh news with the new BC tenancy changes that came into effect on July 1 2021.

I am new to being a landlord and this news does make things a little harder if you have a troublesome tenant.

I am wondering what other investors who own in British Columbia think about the changes and will it affect your decisions to do long-term renters vs STR?

Thanks!
