I am a newbie to the Dallas area but want to get into the wholesale market. I don't mind working for someone else and starting from the bottom, I just need to know where and how to start. I do not have my license yet and I don't have any way to gain mls knowledge either. Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcomed! Thank you, Cameron

Happy Saturday guys! I hope everyone is staying warm today and enjoying the Masters. I wanted to put my feelers out there and get familiar with the Dallas market and possibly even find a mentor to give me some direction. I just relocated from Oklahoma City and I'm looking to hustle my way into real estate market in the Dallas, from investing to sales. I am just not quite sure where to start. If anyone has any advice, I would greatly appreciate it. I also know this is a shot in the dark but I'm also going to be looking for a mentor. Enjoy the weekend, guys! Thanks, Cameron J.

I was in the family construction business for years and we handled claims from just about every carrier out there. I myself, have a lot of respect for State Farm or AAA. They seem to have the best response time and actually pay full replacement costs, instead of lowballing you. I can say that in my experience, I would stay clear of Allstate, Farmers and any other company who doesn't have a huge amount of capital. I've seen them abuse their customers way too many times. Best of luck in your search!

@Michael Kantar you've already taken the first step here and that is thinking of your future and acting on it. I would highly suggest you focus on swimming since you are obviously talented in that area. I also believe that will open doors along the way since it shows your determination and drive are there. If your grades are solid, you could easily get a full ride to college and that is an accomplishment also.

I won't have the military conversation with you because I feel like that is something only parents should bring up with someone your age. As for real estate at 14, it will be a challenge for you. There will be people out there who just won't take you seriously at your age and that's okay. Just remember not to let these hurdles discourage you from this. I would look at what jobs are available to you, pick one and keep reading and studying real estate. If you already have this determination at 14, you'll easily be successful in life in whatever path you choose to take. You're awesome, Michael! Keep up the drive!
