Quote from @Philip Traynor:

How long ago did the mother pass?  What family members survived her?  Are there other assets to be considered, or just the real property?  What does your aunt plan to do with the property?  There might be a simpler solution than the bottomless abyss that is the Texas probate courts.

It's been at least a year or more since she passed, my aunt is the only surviving sibling, it's only the house we're dealing with, she currently rents rooms out to a couple people. Also, my aunt is trying to finish fixing up her house in kentucky to sell it and use the money to help fix and sell the Texas house

My two best friends and I are planning to start a construction/rehab business . I have the most construction experience, as well as they aren't new to the type of work. I have the lowest credit score at 605/620. The other two I believe are about 680 and 700 I believe. We even have pur first job lined up, a house a friend bought to flip and the old contractor just walked out on her. (Idk if this is the correct place for this question(do we do a llc or partnership to start the business and get our ein)) and is there start up business loans that we could qualify for with our credit and projected income to buy equipment and other business supplies ? Thank yall in advance for taking the time to read this and share your knowledge

Hey everyone my aunt owns a house outside of Austin tx. Her mother, who has passed away (rest her soul) , is still on the deed with my aunt and the lawyers in Texas have quoted my aunt ridiculous numbers to get her mom's name off the deed. Does anyone know a cheaper way to go about it?

Thank you in advance and God Bless 😇

The Kentucky secretary of state website has directions on how to create an LLC yourself but always consult a lawyer for legal advice : )

Thank you Will. I'll look into that 😁

Well, at least investing with a non-spousal partner is good reason to get a LLC.

Here is one of MANY threads about LLC's: https://www.biggerpockets.com/...

Yes, definitely work with qualfied attorney to set it up correctly and appropriately. Also, learn how to operate the LLC correctly to maintain your corporate veil.

I've never invested in KY, so sorry I don't have any direct experiences to share, but hopefully there are others who can chime in.  Good luck.

Thanks for the input David.  What areas do you invest in?

Quote from @Greg Scott:

Why do you need one?  You may be wasting money.

A friend of mine and I are wanting to go into a partnership and build our business credit line to be able to fund STRs and for the liability aspect.
