I know a party who's home is in foreclosure and may be interested in getting rid of the property. My question is how should I approach this party about my interest in buying their home? Who do I talk to? Once that is established, how should I or do I purchase the home? I have some money saved up, my credit is not bad, and my wife and i currently own a home that is our primary residence. I am new to the real estate business so I don't want to screw up and lose out on my first possible deal. ADVICE PLEASE!!!

Thanks a lot @Andrew Davis. I actually just bought The Book on Flipping Houses! I'm going to start reading it once I complete The Book on Investing in Real Estate.

My name is Ricardo Camacho, I am 24 years old and have been married for about a year now. I currently have no children, although my wife is expecting. I first discovered bigger pockets after purchasing The Book On Investing in Real Estate by Brandon. While I was reading about the book, I noticed that the Bigger Pockets podcast was advertised a lot more than often. I didn't know what a podcast was until my martial arts coach mentioned that he had a podcast and explained the whole concept to me. After listening to one of his episodes I thought it was pretty interesting and agreed to give the Bigger Pockets podcast a shot. After I started listening to the podcast, I was persuaded to become a member at Bigger Pockets.

I currently live in South Florida, and own a home with my wife. I currently work for a paint company and I am working towards becoming the store manager. We sometimes deliver paint to companies that fix up homes and rent them out or sale them. It really motivates me to get out there and start investing myself. More often, we deliver to contractors that are involved in new construction, that is when my imagination really starts to soar!

Other than that, my goals are to purchase properties to rent out, although I am starting to become interested in the idea of investing in flips. I would like to network with successful investors and individuals with experience, who can share their knowledge with me, so I too can become a successful investor. My ultimate goal is to be able to take care of my wife without her having to work, allowing her to be a stay at home wife. It may be cliche, but I always dreamt of having a stay at home wife and family that I can take care of on my own.
