@Tim Swierczek you are correct.  You do need 2 years experience and you have to run it through a brokerage which I have the ability to do currently.

Hello All,

I currently own 3 Doors and help a friend manage another 20 more as things come up.  The thought to just start a real estate management company intrigues me for many reasons.  Additional cash flow, opportunity to meet and work with more investors, etc.

Knowing full well, it's a lot of squeezing for not very much juice, especially early on, lots of work, systems needing to be created, headaches of tenants, etc.

Does anyone care to share if they started a property management or reasons they chose to not?  I've heard some pretty good opinions on both sides of the aisle on the podcasts.  Anyone in Minnesota doing this?

I used Kaplan, very good course passed everything easily.  Speaking as someone who was an investor turned Agent I don't think it would be beneficial for you to have it unless you are going to pursue it long term.  Just my opinion though!

Thanks for the good tips. I have been recording only mileage but you both have helped answer my question for future write off. Thank you very much.

Does anyone here attend the mpls REIA monthly meetings? Deciding if it would be worth starting to attend?
