Welcome to BP!  I've heard the LA market can be very tough from a rules and regs perspective, some great resources here for "long distance real estate investing" that may be helpful if you are looking to get started in a lower cost more stable market for long-term holds

Thanks Robin! Yeah I would be interested in other markets as well! If you had any resources to share, that would be great!

Quote from @Michael Pierson:

Hey Brendan!

You are in the right place on Bigger Pockets. This website has helped me tremendously and as you can tell, many others. One of the biggest hurdles in my opinion is actually putting yourself out there and doing what you say you are going to do. Many people say they failed at investing but never actually followed through with what they said they were going to do. One big tip I would have no matter your strategy is to get multiple opinions on things. For example, multiple bids on jobs with contractors until you build a trustworthy relationship with someone. This applies to everything though.

Good luck with your journey!

Thanks Michael! That's a great point on following through. I appreciate the tip on getting multiple opinions! It can be easy to forget sometimes and it definitely never hurts to have that quick reminder!

Happy Friday!

I am new to the Real Estate investing world and wanted to make some connections!

I have never purchased an investment property before, but I want to get to that level this year! I am hoping to meet like minded individuals who can share their experience getting started, what their biggest hurdles were and how to over come them, and general advice/guidance.

I am in the Los Angeles area but open to learning about other markets!

Also beginning in April, I will start working in Real Estate as a Wholesaler. Open to any suggestions on how to succeed, where to find deals, and where to make connections/local meetups.

Looking forward to connecting!
