It is entirely possible that they could be owning two "primary residences" one in their name and the other in yours for tax reasons or otherwise. They might even have the other primary residence rented out somewhere. You should totally ask them to share their spoils since they might be benefitting from your position.

Shaun R. I feel you! I had to part ways with my ex girlfriend of two years (almost resulted in marriage) because our financial goals are completely worlds apart. I think one of the most valuable advice that you can give your children now that you're a parent is to marry someone or date people who are similar to you financially. If you're a saver/investor and your spouse is a spender and will not sacrifice to save, being financially free will only be a distant dream. Good luck!

Without knowing what type of business you do and what your business structure is (S-corp, LLC, etc), it will be impossible to tell what tax deductions you're eligible for. Work with a qualified CPA who will give you the advice you need. Most real estate expenses and home improvements for rentals are added to your cost basis and depreciated.

At your age, I would definitely work hard to attain a great education while learning the ropes of real estate at the same time. Your education would put you in a position of influence, help you network with more like minded people, and would of course, land you a business or job that would help fund your real estate endeavors. Good luck.

Thanks for all your help guys. I've decided to just modify my existing cabinets to make a hollow cookie sheet cabinet. Cost: Free!

What do you think?

@Jeff Wallace They do make them at Lowes? Interesting, I was looking in the store and I can't find it anywhere. I'll check with the cabinet designer again to confirm your suggestion, but thank you!

@Account Closed Thank you. I was looking more for a cabinet solution instead of just simply filling the space with filler pieces.

Hi everyone! I recently purchased a dishwasher and had my contractor install it in between the sink and the stove. The problem is, after he removed the cabinets in between and installed the dishwasher, there is a 6 inch wide by 34.5" tall space that is left for me to fill. I tried searching high and low for a 6" wide kitchen cabinet but it's hard to find one around. My question is, would I have to resort to custom making one or are there places that do sell 6 inch cabinets? What other options do I have to fill that space up?

Any advice would be appreciated, thank you.

btw... I have the cradle tool as well. Sometimes you need to reset them if a key is lost or a mistake is made.

The $17 one that you are buying should be the ANSI grade 3 locks. You should be paying more than that for an ANSI 1 deadbolt.
