I'm looking for duplexes, triplexes, or townhomes. I'd like them located within walking/short distance of MSU. Based on the research I've done so far, areas close to MSU have good rental history and decent cashflow potential.

I’m located in Kansas City, MO. but I want to look into investing in Springfield, MO. (which about 2 hours south of me). I’m somewhat familiar with the Springfield market, but I don’t have any contacts there. I have identified several multi-family properties that I’d like to do some analysis on and I’m looking to find some trust worthy people to work with as I evaluate my investment opportunities in the area.

With that said, I’m looking for contacts for lending, contracting and other people knowledgeable with the area to work with. Any suggestions or thoughts?

This may not be the right place for this...

Hi @Julie Marquez. Thanks for the response.

At one point in my life, I saw myself being an architect running a design firm with a development arm building the homes I designed. I'd still love to be an architect but, I personally think, it's a little late for that.

Quite honestly, I'm not sure what the end game looks like. I know where I want to start and that is buying some rental properties. From there we'll see what doors open up for me.

My name is Bryce Burks. I'm from the Kansas City, Missouri area. I'm new to investing but have always loved residential architecture and real estate. I have found myself in a great career as an IT Project Manager but started college out studying drafting and architecture. I had a dream in mind of building my own company around custom home development before the market crashed. At this point in my life, with a family and a great job, I'm feeling the itch again. I feel that the best way to get back to what I really love is to start investing in rental properties while doing some flips on the side. Hopefully, maybe, someday, I might be able to make my dream a reality if all goes well.

I have a number of connections in the industry (contractors, realtors, lenders, etc.) and I have a solid IT background with connections there as well so I'm thinking I can get the ball rolling pretty quickly. For some reason, however, I find myself hesitating.
