@Monica Davies  Investing in a place that has short-term rentals in Belize is a great way to go.  The market is in need of more internationally certified "hotel" rooms rather than AirBnB's though.  With the amount of traffic coming to Belize, the market is very ripe for needing space for tourists.  Property tax can be as low as $38/year for a one bedroom unit.  Financing, however, can be tricky and not many places will offer it.  Feel free to dm me for some more info.  I have been living in Belize for the past year and have learned a lot about the market here.

Hi Ryan, I have recently learned a lot regarding international investments in Belize.  Tourism has increased 44% in the past 5 years meaning it is a booming area and still has room for a ton of growth considering it was just established in 1981.  The amount of direct flights has been increasing as there is more and more traffic.  Ambergris Caye was the top tourist destination on Trip Advisor in 2013 and 2014.  The amount of rooms available is barely sustaining the amount of traffic coming so from an investment standpoint, it is a very opportune time.  If you'd like more info, let me know!
