@John Olsen Congrats on finding the property! Which of those two types of lease agreements are you working with for this duplex? I am just curious.

It probably depends on how much your return on investment is. If you invest in a fund that returns 8% per year and you take out 4% every year, your money is still growing at 4% per year. That's faster than inflation, which is about 2% per year. That's my understanding of it. The middle class has been tough to work for money, and the rich have learned how to make money work for them (Learned this from the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad).

Hey BiggerPockets community!

I graduated in May 2018 with a degree in Management Information Systems, and my day job is in Technology. I was born and raised in Mankato, Minnesota, and I am excited to start investing here! I have been listening to hours of podcasts, YouTube videos, and audio books almost every day. I am super curious about REI and I am learning whatever I can get my hands on. I found BiggerPockets in a YouTube video made by Matt McKeever, a real estate investor in London, Ontario. By the summer of 2020, I would like to have purchased a small multifamily property and start house hacking it. From there on out, I would like to implement the BRRRR strategy. I am excited to meet other real estate investors and hear what they have been working on.
