I own a triplex and was wondering if I could use one unit as a short term rental to offset my W2 income as a trader business. If so, are there any pitfalls to doing it this way?

Hi there.

im currently renovating a triplex investment property and have some family helping out. How do I reimburse them for supplies and labor in a way that is still tax deferred?

thank you.

Hey All,

First-time real estate investor here. I currently bought my first Duplex in my home state of Michigan and I'm looking for a tax advisor/strategist to help me get the most out of my investment. I'm hoping to start off by rolling it into an LLC after closing but have never done anything like this before.

If anyone has any advice or can point me in the direction of a good Real Estate CPA, I'd greatly appreciate the help.

Thanks in advance
