Welcome to BP fellow San Diegan!

I would suggest attending the local meetup groups as there are plenty of OOS multifamily investors around. Not sure if you fancy syndication or want to find and secure your own deals.

Also a reminder that the BP conference will be in San Diego this year.

Thanks Wesley! Right now I am working with a friend to partner on real estate deals. We would probably be open to syndication, but first would love to get a couple properties under our belts.

Bummer - I will be in Brazil Sept 14-Feb 21 to visit my wife's family so hoping to watch the content online. And definitely attend the meet up groups before and after Brazil

Brian, good on you for diving in brother. A majority of my investments have been made remote – my properties are in Chicago while I've lived in Denver & now Las Vegas. Definitely great value in the midwest.

Biggest key I can recommend to you is to find a strong broker/realtor where you want to invest.
They'll be the QB of your team. A great broker will have recommendations for contractors, property managers, project managers, attorneys, title company, finding deals, knowing neighborhoods, etc. They'll make your life easier or harder, depending on if you are working with the right person. Wish you the best brother.

Hey Juan. Thanks a lot for the advice - I really appreciate it! I have been practicing speaking with realtors over the last few weeks just to get in the groove and learn. I will definitely keep the recommendations advice in mind when deciding to work with a realtor. Cheers man

Hey, If you are looking for solid cash flow from a multi-family property I would look into Dayton, OH. The steady job market from the Air Force base, universities, and healthcare, on top of the affordability creates a really good passive income opportunity. If you would like to chat more feel free to DM anytime and I will be happy to help. Best of Luck!

Hey Tyler. Thanks for suggesting Dayton, OH. I will take a look some time this week and let you know if I have any questions. Thanks again!

Hi Brian,

Let me know if you find yourself wondering about Madison, WI/surrounding area as that is my focus.  The city is big enough for multiple property management company options and a mix of investment options (student housing with UW Madison, huge demand for affordable housing, stable economy with biotech, hospitals, gov't, Epic Software and a growing population).

Hi Peter. Thanks for commenting! I would definitely be interested to see what kind of properties you have available, and I can see any are a good fit for what I am looking for.

Hey everyone! My name is Brian Weber, and my wife and I live in Carlsbad, CA. Currently I am a software developer at Intuit. I joined BiggerPockets not too long ago and forgot to introduce myself.

Recently I started learning more about real estate from Elliot (investwithace), podcasts and many books. I have been involved with investing and some trading in stocks for awhile now. But realized that real estate is such an amazing vehicle for achieving FI so now I am focused on finding my first multi-family rental property out of state. Currently looking in Kentucky and Wisconsin as I continue to learn and connect with you all. Hopefully I have the chance to meet some of you in person one day! Thank you for the opportunity to be here.
