@Henry Lazerow

Thanks for that data, that's going to be a huge help for me when I'm looking in areas that I'm a little less familiar with.

@Alex Proskourine

That is an awesome story and super motivating to hear that even with the struggles, you were able to push through and succeed and get that first deal.

I'm currently in that position looking to get my first deal right now with an FHA loan, so seeing successes helps keep me motivated.

@Henry Lazerow Without trying to hijack this forum, what areas in East/West Garfield Park would you say are being gentrified. I want to make my first investment into multi-units with an FHA loan, and the nicer north side neighborhoods are a bit out of my current price range, so I've looked west. My girlfriend is very reluctant to move there though based on what she has heard/seen on the news.

Thanks in advance!

Hey Everyone! Excited to finally join the community. I've been catching up on the BP Podcast and reading articles, and now I know that Real Estate is definitely where I want to be investing. I am 25, originally from the northern Chicago suburbs, and will be moving back home in about a week.

After a lot of reading/listening, I have "decided" that I want my first investment to be a house hack on the north side of Chicago, ideally in Lakeview/Wicker Park/Logan Square/Bucktown areas, but I'm open to other neighborhoods.

If anyone has any advice they can offer on where to start or anything in general, I'd be eternally grateful.
