Any suggestions on a patient agent in the San Antonia area who works with investors on flipping or rental properties?

Being a trucker you could say I don't live in the area. Not sure if thus will make an impact on the agent?

It's not so much as not trusting banks or credit unions. I just don't want to be tied down to them. I am real comfortable now because I don't "have" to work, other than paying for food. At the same time I am not comfortable with how my retirement funds look. So I have to make a change.

i have not yet actually started on the path to REI, other than listening to the podcasts reading the forum ordering Brandon's book. Eager to start after I get out of my preschool education level.

I have been debt free for several years. I max out my 401k and contribute to a Roth. I was real happy last year when my rate of return was 25% this year it's only at 5%. then the kicker, I get my investment analysis report it find out that by the time I retire at 67 I will have the exact same amount of income and I have now if the market goes good.

I truly love my current job as an over the road truck driver. and probably will still continue contributing to my 401k and my roth (tax benifit for me). I just don't wanna wait till 67 to start doing the things I want to.

Basically I thought I was financially independent. However, what good is my financially independent if I'm not able to take advantage of my life?

To clarify REI, I mean fix and flippers and buy and holds.

What impact will this have on the investment community? Just curious if this will have more people buying their own homes without going through some form of REI.

i just joined BP the other day. Still reading "The Ultimate Guide". It's still a little confusing and overwhelming to me.

Here are my thoughts. I have under 10k sitting in a savings. This is what I want to use to start in real estate. Now for my kicker. I have not purchased anything on credit for over 10yrs. I am leery about working with a bank, and not sure if they would want to work with me with my non-credit history. The other issues are that although I would like to join an REI club, with my job I never know how long oor when I can be "home". This also presents a problem as to doing the footwork involved in rental/flipping.

I thought initially on becoming part of a "Private Funds" team to get started then flipping a few and from there renting. I dont know if with my limited funds if this would be the route to go, or if there are other options I should look into? Any educational information I can look into? Is there anyone with similar circumstances?

I have always been interested in real estate as an investment tool. However fear, negativity from "mainsteam" real estate people, and worst of all listening to friends and family, has always kept me from doing so. I am currently in over the road truck driver and I love my job. So I am not sure how I am going to achieve my goals. but I know if I do nothing I will never achieve these goals. I do have some ideas that I am bouncing around in my head as to how I can get started but for now, I am educating myself by reading "Ultimate Beginner's Guide to Real Estate Investing,"
