Hello BP community. I’m actively searching for my first investment property, which I plan to househack. I’m looking for advice on where to pull funds from for my first deal. I am pre-approved with a lender, but I’m wondering if investors typically keep liquid money in a savings account or money market fund for deals? And which percentage of your portfolio do you keep liquid? Trying to decide if I should be liquidating other assets in my portfolio, or perhaps it’s best to put a small percentage down on the down payment and keep as much of my own money as possible. Thanks in advance!

Welcome @Brett Sheeran. This has been my strategy here in NOVA as well - though true multifamily housing stock is hard to come by as you are probably already aware. House hacking and basement conversions have worked in my experience. Let me know if you'd like to chat more!

Hi Jonathan. Yes I’ve become well aware hah. I would definitely like to chat!

Hello Bigger Pockets community. My name is Brett Sheeran. I live in Arlington, VA. I'm an aspiring investor and looking to acquire my first investment property. Ideally this would be a multi-family property that I can live in and rent out the other units. Looking forward to networking and potentially working with this amazing community!

Hello, I’m a new investor looking to purchase my first property in the next month or two. I’m wondering if anyone is aware of good real estate meetups in the DMV area? Looking to bounce ideas, make connections, and learn some new knowledge from others. Thanks!
