ive used a  ( reme halo) germicidal system . They work gr8 for getting out all kinds of smells  and sanitize the air.  They are made by RGF,(i think) . Now home depot sells them. I LOVE it.

I think if i would have told him up front ( hey look I'm going to be  using more than 1 ) I'd feel better about it.

Im the definition of pre-newby,in my opinion. I work alot of  hours, the co. I work at is very successful, so fortunately for me,  they provide me with a good salary.  The problem,  with working so much ,im not able to look at alot of houses. Usually I work with 1 realitor at a time. I only have 1 Saturday  every other week to look. The people ive worked with  are only 1 person and have other buyers than just me, and my guess is that those other buyers spend more money than i can. Is it ok to use more then 1 realitor at a time?  I want to do things right the 1st time.

I can't really say a certain manufacturer.

I can tell you this, the ones I've seen that last along time,have been (sized correctly, installed properly and maintenanced yearly.) And that's accross the board.

Make sure that you go w/a good company.

And I cannot over emphasize this, change your filters regularly

I am an HVAC technician, for the last 19 yrs.

This is the way that I look at it.

You mentioned that it was about 17 yrs old.

That's kinda like a car w/190,000 miles on it.

What kind of reliability are you going to get out of it.

The efficiency's have gone pretty high too.

Not to mention, alot of new systems come w/a 10 yr parts and labor warranty.

And you can have peace of mind.
