Thanks everyone for all the responses much appreciated gives me lots of things i know I need to do now.

@John Nachtigall, Appreciate the long post all of that makes sense and give me what I was looking for a real sense of direction, I am going to do the intern thing for sure.  & after I gain knowledge from working at couple places like that I am sure I will know what direction I will need to head in & what to do next to further advance my career. My main problem was starting here was no sense of direction and what kind of things I would do to get my foot in the door, I had no clue where to start was completely lost. so I thank you again for your time not only to you but everyone on here.

Thank you,

Bret Rubash

Awesome thanks for your time, I knew that about zillow but never thought investers used it as a source. Ill have to look into things looks like i might need 2 jobs. and maybe 2-3 years before i can do anything i have about 8,000 in dept cause a car i lost back in 2009 /2010 i had to give them the keys. i guess i need to pay that and save up about 10k before i can do much of anything. ill be 30 in august seems i waited too long to get anywhere i never shoulda stayed home trying to take care of family should of just started my own. Feel like its too late to be successful now, I kinda screwed up.

This is exactly what I am looking for. What does it cost to be come an appraiser? I think going to school to be an appraiser would help tremendously cause you would know yourself what its worth & what would increase its value more overall compared to other things? What does schooling like that cost & how long it take? or do you just learn overtime what a good deal is and snag it?

Has anyone here done any business with Jeremy Tillotson out of Fort Wayne, IN?

Hes reached out to me a couple times, I have not replied yet. But I have reason to be asking this.

Is he a good guy to work with?

Any positive or negative things about him I should know about?

Private Message me if you have anything to say I'm not here to put in public to make him look good or bad that's why I want you to private message me I am just gathering information about this person from people that worked and done business with him before i consider working with him in any way. I want to keep my reputation ethical and high.

Thanks,

Bret Rubash

I guess i could try but i'm having enough hard time finding 1 job let a lone 2. I live with my mom she is disabled and i do all the driving and running to stores for her, she gets like $900 a month  with just that and my income its hard to survive on. might be more easy now idk we got rid of the house cause my dad passed and we couldnt afford it anymore 3 months ago . and we are trying to save money to move to biloxi mississippi we are staying at my aunts right now.

@ Adam Giles I agree with everything you said, My main problem is How do I start? How I contact people & where I find them? I just don't know how to get my first step into the door to get me rolling. I am looking for work even right now, I am unemployed. I been trying to get in, possibly working for someone that's already doing this so i can learn the ropes maybe as an assistant or organizer or data entry anything.

Is it possible in Real Estate to go from nothing to being successful in Real Estate Investing? I want to get into this I know for a fact I have the smarts to do this. My problems is I am a single 29 year old with no kids & basically no assets I keep having to sell my assets to keep afloat due to no job, ive had 3 cars paid off that I had to sell ( life been rough lately ) I worked industrial construction & warehousing my whole life. I do not have schooling or a career that pays good I'm stuck making $9-$12 / hour jobs & im sick of living this up and down life style, when i finally get my cars paid off and getting ahead i get knocked down and have to sell them to make it then i lose everything i worked for. I have worked since i was 14 even had full-time job at 14

My question is Is it possible to start doing this from having nothing? or do I need to have Thousands of dollars just to be able to get my first property? I also don't have the best credit either I cosigned with my dad on the house webought cause i had credit score of 780 at 21 years old but the debt to income ruined my credit as well as a car i lost cause i couldn't find work in 2009-2010.

If I can get into REI starting from nothing how do I do it? I do not know anyone in the industry & have no clue how to find investors to invest in me to make us both money. I am barley scratching the surface starting to study this stuff currently still out of work I relocated to Fort Wayne, IN.

Also is there a way I can look up to see how ethical and reliable people are before doing business with them? I dont want to ruin my reputation by working with some crook that i have no idea is one. Reputation seems to be everything in this industry & I plan to keep mine top notch.

Sorry for the long post & Thank you for your time,

Bret Rubash
