Thanks for the reply Eric! That gives me some hope. We are definitely buy and hold investors who don't mind some work after the purchase to make it rent ready. Starting off will probably be 1 property a year, paying cash, with the goal of having enough income to retire early.

Are there neighborhoods or area's of the city we should avoid?

Long time lurker, first time poster.

How's the market in Mobile? My wife and I have friends in Daphne and while we would love to buy there it is outside our price range. We're seeing lots of properties in Mobile in the 30k-80k range which we could pay cash for but not sure what areas are decent B-C class neighborhoods. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
