Justin Silverio thank you Justin that's genius! I will definitely be doing that. I know New Bedford is very spotty so it would be very difficult to predict ARV since you can be in an "A" or "B" neighborhood and then literally within a few steps be in a war zone. For the purpose of practicing analyzing deals and possibly wholesaling a few, would you consider it feasible to compare homes that may be in opposite ends of the city but comparable neighborhoods? Possibly 5-10 miles apart? It may be tough in the city to find good comps within the typical 1/2 mile radius. What do you think? Ali Allen I will let you know who/what I find!

Mike Hurney thank you for the advice. I actually grew up in New Bedford and have purchased and sold a single family home. I moved to VA this past summer and will be planning on moving back to New Bedford in 2 years. I'm looking for an investor who wouldn't mind sharing their project "before and afters" so I can get a bearing of what goes into a flip in his area and what the norm is.

Thanks Ali!

I was able to find an investor, Justin Silverio, who was a guest on one of BP's podcasts. He flips houses in the Boston market. Check him out on here and on facebook, he posts his projects and they're really nice high end flips. JS2 Homes LLC is the name of his facebook page. I'm still trying to find someone who flips closer to home. Hopefully someone comments on this thread to help us out! I'm planning to invest in New Bedford when I return in a couple years, maybe even before I move back? We'll see!

Hello BP,

Are there any active flippers in MA rehabbing houses in New Bedford and Surrounding Areas? Or Virginia in the Hampton Roads?  I would love to connect on Facebook, etc. and be able to follow your projects, if you post them online of course.

I grew up in New Bedford but recently moved to the Hampton Roads Virginia area and am looking to jump into flipping within the next  year. I would like to see what typical flips are in each of the aforementioned areas.

Thanks!

Post: NewB from Hampton Roads Area!

My name is Brendon Botelho. I am a 23 year old Civil Engineer currently working for the government. I've always had this dream of buying and flipping houses with my wife, who is currently an RN and pursuing her Masters Degree. I have recently moved to the Hampton Roads (Virginia) area from Massachusetts for work. After reading a couple investing books (Brandon's "How To Invest In Rental Property" and J's "The Book On Flipping Houses") I realize now that making house flipping my own business is no longer just a far fetched dream but it is in fact a reality! Ideally, I would like to start flipping houses once my wife is finished with school, for more financial stability in case my first deal is a flop. However, I keep hearing this voice in my head saying "why wait!?" So here I am, hoping you guys can inspire and mentor me on potentially making my first deal in the near future!
