Thank you everyone...I am in an area with 1200 full time residents and literally 45+ agents. We are in a tourist community, so when the market's hot, the agents I know are overloaded. When it's dead, there is nobody here...anywhere...even the restaurants close. So I think there is a stigma about taking away from agents who have been here a long time. I just recently moved here and I believe this is part of my problem also. There are 6 Real Estate Agency's just in a 1 mile stretch of our Downtown, and I have spoken with all of them. This is why I was wondering about getting licensed in another state then transferring it to Maine. I do live here, but to get some forward motion, I'll go just about anywhere to get my classes and licensing done.

Thank you for the comments. They're all helpful!

I'm simply commenting that in the newbie forum, I would expect people to be more responsive and welcoming. I'm not asking for anything from anyone except that they be more friendly towards they're fellow associates.

So thanks for being so welcoming!

As I dredge through the hundreds of hours of valuable information here on BP. I was waiting for multiple instant welcoming responses to my newbie post. After 42 views I have had 1 welcome. Then I realized that some of these newbies have 500-600 views with 4 responses???

I hope that if you take the time to read someones post you would introduce yourself. We're here to network and help each other, not be Stalkers!

So again, I'm Brenda, and I'm from Maine. And if you'd like to know about my dilema and what I can help you with potentially...you can look for my newbie post.

Thanks to the people who care enough to send a friendly note!

The First Property I ever developed into a Single Family residence, I took the first offer I got 12 days after it was listed...and I got 4 more written offers over the next 3 days all were between 20K-30K more than my first offer.

I never rush now.

Thank you for your kind words Raymond!

I was beginning to think this webpage was full of the people from the area I live in. 32 views and no responses...It's hard to be motivated in a society of people where .03% of them are helpful! So your response is appreciated!

Hi Everyone! My name is Brenda, I am currently living in the beautiful community in Maine. I am a Graduate of Interior Design, and started Developing Residential Property when the Decorating field washed up. I have Designed, Built, and sold multiple houses since starting in 2007, and have gotten bit in a big way by the Real Estate Bug.

I Love to answer questions about local properties, I pride myself in knowing whos got what, where, and for how much, in my area, and any other information that would give a seller, or a buyer their best possible chance at owning a little piece of that Apple Pie Dream we all have. Owning our own home, growing old in it, and retiring off of it!

I am currently pursing my Real Estate License for the state of Maine, but have run into some road blocks. Mostly due to not being able to find a broker in my area who will take my license once I get it. The Western Maine Mountains are flooded with Agents, and even thou I believe I have something different to offer clients, and a fresh view, I still can't find anyone who wants "more competition" in their area.

I have thought about getting a brokers license in a single licensure State and then coming back to Maine to take the Brokers test to get around the whole issue, but I feel I would be missing out on the valuable experience that a seasoned agent could share with me. I have the drive and motivation, I just need to find a company who appreciates hard working, honest individuals! I'm not sure they're out there anymore.

So that's my scoop! If you have any questions about design, staging, staging photography, or furniture placement for the best flow thru a house ask! And if you have any insight on my dilema, I would certainly be happy to hear about it!

Have a great day!
