Post: Hardwood floor refinish: hire professional or DIY

I am getting my first property that has original pine hardwood floors throughout half the house, about 800 sqft. I am debating spending thousands of dollars to have a professional do it or do it myself. I have never done it before, but after watching a few hours of youtube videos, I feel like I could do it, and all the rental equipment would probably be 500-1000 for the whole project. But it will take me like 2 weeks.

Any thoughts or suggestions.

Check out your local REIA meetings. They usually have a time for all meeting attendees to announce their deals and advertise.

I don't live in Pensacola but have visited a good friend multiple times there and have been interested in doing my next deal in downtown Pensacola with intentions of making it a short term rental. I called my buddy after reading the "white flight" comment by @Bryce Nurding and my friend highly discounted that claim. His recommendations were to stay east of I-10, closer to the East Hill area. He also mentioned that area near Joe Patti's Seafood (south of Downtown) is being revitalized and expected to be doing well within the next 5 years.

I am also looking for a contractor in the Tampa area. @Robert Fielding did you have any luck? I am looking for a glass door for a shower to be put up.
