Thanks Patti Robertson . After I posted this I found out some more weird stuff but anyways I just wanted to make sure everything was legit. I think she literally wrote, pay me $650 a month for 20 years and don't let any dogs in the place, on a piece of paper and got the lady to sign it lol.

Yea I just found out about this tonight. I'm going to call my grandmother and find out more. I just figured I'd get some advice before I go digging.

My grandmother seller financed her house to a woman for $650 a month for 20 years. The woman lived in it for a couple years and moved out and let her sister move in. They filed to get section 8 housing assistance and my grandmother signed for it. My question is was anything dealing with section 8 a violation of the contract or do I need to find out more specifics of the contract? It seems shady to me that she moved out and moved her sister with section 8 housing in but I didn't know if there was anything wrong with that or not.

Joel, I really want to buy and hold. I like the idea of growing long term passive income as opposed to a quick "chunk" of money. Not that I wouldn't go that route if the right opportunity came along but for starting out I would rather buy and hold.

I'm a new hopeful investor who just joined BP a few days ago. Like most people, I read Rich Dad, Poor Dad and it sent me on a journey. Since then I've been reading every book I can and trying to find every resource possible. I'm particularly interested in rental property in the Augusta, GA/North Augusta, SC area. The idea of passive income wealth building is very exciting to me. I'm planning going to the Augusta REIA and AORE meetings this month and I would really love to connect with some people here on BP. I'm very new here but I can tell how incredible of a resource this site is.

Thanks James. I do plan on talking with an attorney. I wanted to get some ideas on here before doing that so I know a little bit about what's going on.

I am planning on investing in real estate in the next few months with a partner and we have some questions about forming a LLC. We do plan on seeking out advice from a tax professional but I wanted to post on here first. With a multi-member LLC, planning to invest in rental properties to begin with, what is the most advantageous way to structure your LLC?
