Brent, pitching deals is not the same thing as pitching products or courses. Everyone wants to hear about deals. See?

Hi Ronnie,

Hope I'm not too late to the party! Since nobody straight up answered your questions, let me be the first. ;)

Brad

1. Fix and flip and Buy & Hold. I always look to see if it's a property in an area I'd like to hold onto in my portfolio. If not, as long as the numbers are good, I'll rehab and flip anywhere.

2. South of 290 (but including the St Johns triangle) all the way down to San Marcos. West to the River/Mopac, east to 183/35. I've been known to make the journey up to Round Rock or Cedar Park on occasion. Man that's far!

3. Gutting, and of course a cosmetic job is always welcome.

4. Below $250k.

5. Below $65k.

6. N/A

Welcome @Tasha Skinner . We have a vibrant investor community with lots of networking events. Search on Meetup.com and you'll find a bunch. Great ones are RENC and REIC of Austin that happen once a month (REIC is next Tuesday) and every Thursday 12pm at Big Daddy's Burgers and Bar at 183 and Burnet is  a do-not-miss. Plenty of other smaller ones too. Meetup and BP forums are your ticket.

Wow. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome and much appreciated tips. I just found my drive time listening material for the next while! I've been to the Thursday meetup lunch a couple times and will definitely watch for some of you there. And thanks Paul for the suggested reading material. I'm excited. So much to learn....

Hi everyone. My name is Brad and I'm excited to be part of the Bigger Pockets community.

I'm originally from Salt Lake City, Utah (Tooele to be exact...10 stars to you if you've heard of it). My wife and I left Utah four years ago, traveled the world for a year, and have been in Austin for just over three years. We're excited to call this home now.

I've owned a couple of rental properties in the past and have wanted to become a serious, active real estate investor for a long time. I made the commitment this year to make that happen, and I only wish I would have done it sooner!

I'm looking to wholesale and rehab, and start building my rental portfolio as fast as possible. If you're in Austin, let's meet for coffee!
