Hey Everyone,

What are the best practices for cleaning that hard to get out orange shower scum on grout lines?

This is great. I agree that convenience is huge.  I drove around and didn't find any laundromats so I am going to max the machines I got from Lowes at $2.00 for wash and $2.00 for dry.  Thank you all for your insight!!!

I am a landlord in Cincinnati and am putting in coin laundry.  Does anyone have any recommendations of the ideal amount to charge for a washing and drying load?  These is for student housing near the University of Cincinnati.

This is great information!!!  I really appreciate all of your inputs!

I recently attended a landlord training put on by the city of Cincinnati.  I found out the proper code for smoke alarms is inside each bedroom, within 5 feet on the outside of each bedroom, kitchen, laundry room, and one on each floor.  I am now in need for 50 alarms.

I am looking for an alarm that fits the following criteria: 1) 10 year battery (so tenants don't take it down when beeps for low battery, 2) Photoelectronic and not Ionization.  They said ionization are known for being touchy and going off when there is not really smoke or a fire.  3) Semi cost effective.  Wondering if there is a good brand that comes in a 5 or 10 pack.  4) Not hard wired for easy installation.  5) Hush function.  6) Semi tamper proof so tenants cannot easily deactivate.

I know this may be a lot but wanted to seek any advice or best practices.

    Great!  Thank you!

I currently list my apartments for rent on Zillow, Craigslist, and Facebook.  Are there any other free listing sites you would recommend?  From my experience Zillow performs the best.

I own a 4 unit building (single family home converted to 4 separate units) by the University of Cincinnati which is rented to students. The utilities are not separately metered and I do not live in the building.  My tenants are keeping the building at not budget friendly temperatures and I am looking to correct this.

Is there a programmable thermostat that I can set limits on?  I would like the tenants to still be able to change the temp on the unit but not go above 72 degrees in the winter and 68 in the summer.  It would also be helpful if I can control it remotely through my phone.  I first thought of the Google Nest however am not sure if this will allow me to set limits or require a password for changes outside of those limits.
