How far out did you send your flyers? Any close to Portland?

I'm also game for a meeting, and I live by the Airport.

I work evenings.

@Ratho R. I am by no means a pro, but what has worked extremely well for my wife and I; we were looking at duplexes for our first home purchase and ended up finding a nice house with an ADU(Auxiliary dwelling unit) in the back. We(just barely) managed to finance the property with just my wife's name on the loan. Our purchase price was higher than what we wanted to pay, but we are getting over half our mortgage paid for by the income generated by the ADU. We are now well set up to purchase an income property since I don't have the mortgage in my name at all... This of course is all contingent on savings, income, and risk tolerance. Good luck!

Hello!

Just finished listening to a couple of the pod casts for Bigger Pockets and learned so much I had to sign up!

My wife and I both work in the restaurant industry and I am looking for an escape in the next 5 years. I feel that with market timing and a little luck and education Real estate investing could be my escape!

Recently purchased my first home in 2012, and became a landlord at the same time( my house has an ADU ). The rental is working out so well, I am looking to expand. I would love to meet any BP's in the area( since I just missed the Portland BP networking event at Rogue... ) to learn from, and bounce ideas off of.

Before stumbling upon BP I planned on finding a duplex in the area to expand my Real Estate portfolio, but after hearing more about wholesaling, I am no longer sure what I want... All I know is my interest has turned into excitement since I've found such a comprehensive site that's not actually trying to sell me something!

Thanks BP!
