Hello all,

Can someone give me some advice? I recently started looking for property to begin investing. I want to buy and hold, then sell it after a few years (depending on interest rates/market). My question is about financing. I know I cannot use the VA loan to invest, but I was wondering about other options I can use to finance my first investment?

Should I wait to get a down payment, finance a downpayment, or what? I've been looking around at options; I just wanted to reach out to the community for advice.

i appreciate this article. As a new investor, I want to make sure I do it correctly and not look at this as a "get rich quick" thing. As someone with a public relations degree, I definitely get the need for advertising.

Greeting! My name is Brandon Lashley. I am a graduate student at Virginia Tech and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. I was standing in the shower a little over a month ago.and realized that I wanted to invest in real estate. In the middle of reading my first book I was hoping to find a group to call home and help me on my journey. I am very ambitious and excited to be a part of the group. Over the past few weeks I have become consumed in my desire to do this as a career. Knowing that I have a hub of help at my fingertips makes me that much more passionate! While I still am in the early stages of learning the trade and strategies, I look forward to the challenge this will bring to my life!
