@Nicholas L. I would like to purchase but I wouldn't think a small amount could do much. I've heard of a group of people coming together and investing in properties. So in a sense I would like to get with others and invest starting at a low amount building a portfolio, if I'm able to purchase even better.

What's usually the smallest amount to start investing? Like $1000 , $5000? I'm not looking to actually purchase myself but use a small amount to help finance.

@Rex Celle thank you for your advise. I'm sure I'll be on here soon asking more questions.

@Rex Celle I felt the same way. All the BP podcast say to partner the same way you said to. Thank you for the advise, very much appreciate it. How would I know if I'm walking into the right bank or lawyers office?

A local real estate investor is "offering" $55 an hour to sit down and talk with about how to get started. Is this a gurus scam or a legit investor wanting to help? How can I tell if I can get something how of it or not?

@Jim Pellerin possibly. I've been careful when offered an opportunity to pay for a mentor.

Hey everyone! I live in Clarksville, TN. I am active duty army in the processes of being medically discharged. I have been reading and listening to podcast about real estate investing, which is great and all but I was looking to actually meet with someone and learn the ropes. I still have a few months in the army and have time to learn but the sooner the better would be amazing! Would there be anyone within the area that would be willing to help? Any feed back would be greatly appreciated! Hope to hear from you soon!
