Eric Jackson Thanks for the response! I actually live in Eaton, Colorado so I am very familiar with Fort Collins! As I said to Ashley I think it would definitely be doable, I would just have to look into the aspects of maintaining that property being out of state. And I'm not exactly familiar on what a 1031 exchange is as I'm trying to research on, but absolutely appreciate the information!! I would love to talk about Northern Colorado since we live in the same area and pick your brain since I see you have really good real estate experience!

Ashley Wishinski I appreciate the reply! That is definitely a great idea and would be a good starting point for me. If you don't mind me asking, have you any properties that are long distance or out of state? That would be my only concern is that once I graduate with my intention to return to Colorado that it would be somewhat difficult to uphold certain aspects such as maintenance since I wouldn't physically be around. I believe I could make it work with the right networking, I'm just wondering which aspects I would need to consider to maintain it from afar!

Hey all! My name is Brandon Koehler and want to start off by saying how much I enjoy not only the information and connections that BiggerPockets provides, but also the stories of success that people are able to accomplish and share! I read the forums everyday always looking for new insight and to simply gain more and more motivation to enter the real estate market! Born and raised in Colorado, I pursued my baseball career which lead me to accept a scholarship to Columbus State University in Columbus, GA where I will receive a BA in Business Finance. I have been intrigued with real estate ever since I began working for my high school baseball coach who had an impressive portfolio of both residential and commercial assets, overall upholding a net worth of $30 million. It brought me to the realization that real estate provides a vast majority of opportunities, and within my research to further my knowledge I came across BiggerPockets and am thrilled I did! I am glad to have finally introduced myself to the BiggerPockets family and look forward to learning and growing through this wonderful industry! Brandon Koehler
