Hey autumn, no costs haven’t gone down. The $9,500 is going to be the cost after subsidies. And besides, numbers are always on low side when they put together ideas like this. It’s how they sell it to the public.

Alex, you probably didn’t think this was gonna be such a hot topi! Haha! There are two problems: government removes choice and forces consumers to buy something. Then the second thing is they “help” by subsidizing it to lower cost which is ironic because they can only subsidize it because tax payers are footing the bill anyways!?!? Unfortunately this is most likely what will happen. Housing prices will continue to go up at faster rates than desired. There will be a housing crisis because people aren’t going to be able to afford these new homes/apartments. Government will step in to subsidize even more housing so that people can live in these homes. Government will then be forced (ironically self inflicted) to raise taxes or create new fees somewhere to fund this causing prices to go even higher and so on and so forth. Free market. Free market. Free market.

Thank Brandon! Yeah I’m a licensed/bonded general contractor that specializes in cabinetry and some finish carpentry. I’m just wondering if that could be a viable option to get my foot in the door and if so how do I seek out an investor looking for my skill?

I’d definitely buy assembled. Having several years in manufacturing experience of cabinetry, the cost to assemble cabinets after parts are cut is minimal because from what I’ve seen costs to package parts versus packing an assembled box is greater because individual parts need packaged. Assembled is the way to go IMHO

So this is sort of a two part question and I’m a little overwhelmed honestly at the amount of information on BP. I had done a simple search online about how to get into fix and flip with little to no money down and the first thing that popped up was a thread on the BP forums. A gentleman listed 10 ways that have actually been used to make a deal work. One of them was to offer to trade services like carpentry, auto mechanics, dental work, etc. So my two part question is as follows: Does anyone no if someone has actually negotiated their services to cover the down payment? Secondly, does anyone no I’ve someone offering their services in lieu of their capital investment in say a partnership to buy and fix and flip a house? This may seem like an odd question but I’m wondering if that’s something I should pursue since capital is my issue. Again, I’m very new to all of this so if it seems like a dumb questions it’s because you could say I’m dumb in all of this : ) Thanks!

And sorry for the double intro post. I’m using the app on my iOS device and it seems to randomly shut down so I didn’t realize that I had posted this one when I did the second one.
