Wonderful to hear from everyone! I live 15 minutes from Gallatin.

I did look into renting some property out to a farmer...or even growing something myself....but when an older man that has been a farmer for years looked at it he said it was too rolling and most things would wash. In his opinion, it was only good for pasture. I am going to call the Ag. Agent and maybe have him come look at it.

As far as my background, I bought and sold some old homes in New Jersey in my younger years. Had a RE license in Atlanta, GA. (scored 100% on the appraisal part) and worked for Coldwell Banker there but always preferred doing things on my own. I raise horses and birds, been here for over 20 years now....city girl turned country. :D

Anyway...wonderful to have found this site, quite by accident late at night. Thanks again for those who took the time to reply.

I purchased a second property 4 years ago with 21 acres and a nice older ranch house which I rented out for 2 years. Am renovating the house now and thinking about developing the land. Am relatively new at this so hope this site gives me some incentive.

Am older so cannot do much work myself and wondering if there is hope for me. Dealing with contractors, surveyors and even the IRS is very exasperating at times. Really love these old farms but they can be costly to fix up. Lots of hidden repairs needed, etc.

Oh, my name is Lasandra...
