You still need to be a qualified real estate professional to enjoy this provision.

Hello. I'm an NJ -based investor and am preparing for a cash purchase of a small portfolio deal (less than 10 SFHs) in one of the suburbs in Pittsburg, PA. I need an investor-friendly attorney to help me close the deal. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Wow! many good replies. Thank you all for sharing your thoughts. @Ian Ippolito, appreciate your detailed info. I can tell that you are a professional in this. I have been approached by three syndication funds. I will use the wisdom here to do my due diligent.

I'm interested in getting into real estate syndication. I found a couple of funds that I'm interested in. I'd be interested in any ideas regarding how to conduct my own due diligence into these funds. How can I tell if these investment companies are reputable firms? Is there a "Better Business Bureau"-like organization that monitors these kind of companies? Perhaps an industry association? Thanks in advance.

Thank you everyone for your warm welcome! Will keep you in my virtual meetup list. I'm thinking of having one in Feb. I will also join @Alina Trigub's meetups.

I'm looking for duplex deals and plan to report back on my progress so that you all can teach me and learn from my mistakes, and success :).

Hi Everyone. I'm from Hoboken, NJ and new to BP. I have been mostly reading, listening, researching, analyzing RE on my own. Now I want to step out and do something :). I'm here to learn and to give. I was a landlord with three condo rentals for 9 years (2005-2014). Then life and career get into the way. But now I want to jump back in again. So much has changed since I was in the market. I'd love to network with local investors and professionals in single and multi family sectors. While working full-time, I'm also interested in passive income such as syndication and equity partner. Feel free to ping me for meet ups, in person or virtual. I actually want to start a REI group meeting once every week or every other week for like-minded people to network, learn, and partner with each other. All RE investors and professionals are welcome regardless your level. Let me know if you are interested. It will be most likely virtual meet ups first, so geography should not be a problem.

My target markets are all towns in N. Jersey, more so in up coming, class B neighborhoods. I would also appreciate any connections and recommendations on great local contractor/handyman, realtors, attorney, Insurance agents, and property managers who work with small investors like me.

Love to connect with you all. Thank you.
