Just a note:
The dollar just fell to it's lowest point since 1995/August as the FED reduces it's fed funds rate to .25%, Can it go to Zero? If so, what's next?

Which is even more reason to speculate that we may need a banking system in place with modern reforms that will better manage risk in order to eliminate systemic problems that originate in one part of world without bringing down the economies of the rest To do that it might make sense to introduce a global banking system that would issue a new global currency used throughout the world to help mitigate those risks. Wouldn't this reduce the aggregate risks associated by individual economies if some sort of comprehensive, inclusive, and equitable system is proposed? We don't have a lack of money problem or credit problem; that is just the symptom. What we have is an inability to price the risks associted with going global using an antiquated economic system that just doesn't work anymore and seems to require upgrading. This inability to manage "risk" is causing home prices to go down, credit to be squeezed, wages to be decreased, and as a result wealth harder to attain. C'mon, banks are failing not because they don't have money, but because banks won't even lend to other banks. Tha's a problem.

I don't know if you heard the recent radiol broadcast, where President Bush, speaking about the g-20 summit said" we are reviewing the actions we have take to remedy our financial crisis and have taken steps to modernize our financial system" This to me sounds like a new financial system that includes the rest of the world which only leads to one road my friends, a unified currency. To confirm this, I went on APEC website, the Asian pacific economic conference where the president Ceo is calling unswervingly for a NEW international economic order and is exerting increasing influence on the economic global region. Check out their web link [Link removed]

But today, with the current credit crisis partly rooted in America, (with frozen risky Credit Default Swaps, C/Mortgarge backed Securities) and with the rising economic might of China (whom we owe 2.2 trillion) and a unified Europe (European Union/G20), OUR dominance is being challenged. China, but the way is the largest holder of US treasury bonds. Isn't that just an IOU? Obama has proven by all accounts to have to unify the world, but with the expected reduction in fed fund rate to zero percent, to the ongoing War in Iraq (that's already cost 2 trillion) and Afganistan, to the bailout and federal takeover of banks and private institutions (not to mention a stumulus package not yet approriated) that is expected to cost another 1-2 trillion(in the next 1-4 yrs), and let us not forget rising unemployment. It just looks like the dollar could further weaken and this has the ability to drive the goverments around the world to see America as a credit risk? Surely, I am not the only person who, senses a fundamental change that will inevitably occur in our "free market" ecomonic system, fears how the devaluation of our national currency may as a result, force us to transition toward a more government regulated economy in exchange for a unified monetary system that limits systemic risk to the overall global economy. Therefore, creating a new central banking system and currency around the world.. C'mon, All I am asking, if anyone else worries about this? The last time I checked, the Federal Reserve's balance sheet showed 2.2 left on it's balance sheet, how much money can we continue to print? Is there any concern for our financial institution or do you agree with the words of a former encumbent who said that "the economy is fundamentally sound?" Flooding the system with money just seems eering symptomatic of what got us here in the first place. Don't ya think?

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. said today that the U.S. recession would be deeper than it had predicted previously, with fourth- quarter gross domestic product likely to decline at an annualized rate of 5 percent. The bank projected U.S. unemployment to reach 9 percent by the end of next year, from 6.5 percent last month.

Hello, I am new to this forum and really enjoy the mediation since it fosters growth. This is the kind of Intellectual capital that makes me proud to be an american. However, in light of this horrible global economy, I , just like any red blooded american wanted to find out what the hell is going on, specifically with the [us dollar] and While browsing the internet, I came across a new word that prompted me to inquire this great pool of intellectual capital quality for an answer. So, here it goes, What is an Amero? I went on wikipedia [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amero] which prompted me to get more informed. Supposedly, Conspiracy theorists contend that the governments of the United States, Canada, and Mexico are already taking steps to implement such a currency, as part of a "North American Union (NAU)" No current members of any country's government have officially stated a desire to create such a body, nor introduce a common currency, but does this sound fishy to anyone else but me as to why nobody's talking about this? Can anyone out there tell me,1) Is this for real? 2) What does this mean for the American dollar? My American Dollars and your american dollars? 3) What does this mean for our future economy? With all do respect, I am not claiming this as true, just looking for thoughtful and informed conversation, so please respond with the respect and finesse of a true educated capitalist such as you all are. And if you don't know what I am talking about, please do not respond and allow the constructive conversation.
