Is it possible to move a doublewide off of a permanent basement foundation? I have a lead, but I've never removed a unit from a foundation so I wanted to check with the experts. Thanks, KLM

How do you handle the possibility of repossessing?  In other words, if someone doesn't pay me for a MH, I go there and deal with them.  An RV being mobile seems to present additional challenges in this scenario.  Plus there seems to be more potential for devaluation of the asset, for example, if they wreck it.  I suppose that if the numbers are right all of these can be mitigated.  I am interested to follow your progress on this, it would be great if you could update the thread periodically.

You have said what price they want to sell it to you for, but how much could you get on resale? K

I would suggest doing so.  Otherwise, the buyer could go direct to the seller, strike a better deal and cut out the middle man.

@Jade Spell, I prefer mobile homes because I can make nearly as much money with a lot less risk.  Also, with MHs I do not have to have tenants.  Additionally, I find MHs are cheaper to repair and renovate, and easier to sell.  And I can avoid bank loans...

Ryan,

Good luck.  As Bill said, it might be worth it to try to put some of that material to work and see if you can recoup your investment that way.  You could come out "ahead" if arbitration goes well AND you learn to make money in RE.

Good luck,

K

I did too, same as Rachel.  I did no deals from 2009 - 2015, but am now doing MHs.

K

Janice,

What was the outcome?
