hello everyone. I need some advice on how to approach my current situation with my lease.
Our lease on our house is up on May 31st. My landlord says that she is still deciding whether to refinance the house and renew the lease or to put it on the market. She said that if she puts it on the market we are welcome to stay till it sells and she will have a 30 day close so that we are able to find a new place as long as we agree to 24 hour notice for showings. This is not something we want to do. We have two large dogs and in our last home (which was on the market all 3 years we lived there), having an agent constantly calling and bringing people in was a huge inconvenience. That being said, I understand this is an financial decision for her, but is there anything we can can say or do that would tip the scales in favor of her renewing for a full year or extend short term off the market? We live in Florida (she lives out of state) and home sale she in Florida are slower in the summer months, so perhaps we can ask her to extend off the market till the end of summer? We would also be willing to pay a few months rent upfront for a full year lease. Is that something that would appeal to someone in her position?
