@Russell Brazil state is CT, but the original transaction was $89K and then either before or after they sold the property they must have filed a quid claim deed for $0 for the same date prior to selling it? I’m not sure as those are my only thoughts...

Interested in trying to understand this -- wondering if anyone can help:

Someone that I don't know personally is flipping houses.  I like to use the towns assessors website to compare what they purchased the property for versus what they are trying to list it for, as I am personally interested in flipping houses/multifamilies.

I noticed that one of the houses the flipper had for sale -- sold -- but what's odd is that the original $$$ value recorded at the tax assessors office went from $80K to $0 prior to it becoming listed,  What would cause the flipper to show a $0 value, when originally they had purchased the property for $80K.  And, why would a flipper do this (and how)?

Looking for your thoughts...thanks in advance.

Hello Everyone!  I recently joined BiggerPockets about 6 months ago.  I've been listening to their podcast and reading their books as I am interested in purchasing a MF and living in one of the units. As a new investor, I want to know about your thoughts, any advice you have for me, and particularly do you know of any good areas in Hartford County that would be worth looking into?    Any advice or guidance is much appreciated.

Best,

Bianca Mattera
