My advice to you would be to get out of Illinois. That is my plan once I graduate with my degree in finance. The property taxes in Illinois are sky high and with the government in the condition it is in I would recommend going to a more business friendly state.

Have you thought about investing in student housing near ISU? There is always a huge demand for off-campus housing especially for upper classman.

I would like to move south in general but like I said Texas seems to be the most investor/business friendly state that I would be interested in moving to. Also the weather there is nice almost year round.

Hello everyone! I've posted before asking which state is the best to invest in and so far I'm pretty set on Texas. The Dallas-Fort Worth area seems to have a nice variety of properties to invest in and housing seems to be relatively cheap too. If any investors from this area could tell me more about the market there I would really appreciate it!

Hi Carl, I highly recommend investing in college towns in Iowa. I am currently a student at Iowa State and the market in Ames is spectacular. There will always be a demand for student housing especially in a growing college town like Ames. I wish you the best of luck!

That was all amazing advice! Thank you all for your input. @James Park I'm curious to know what type of investing you do in Georgia. Do you invest primarily in SFH or have you branched out into multifamily or commercial?

Hello everyone! I'm currently a college student majoring in Finance and I was wanting to know your opinion on which states are the best to invest in real estate. I currently live in Illinois and I know the taxes here are getting pretty high. As much as I would like to stay local I think the best choice would be to move out of Illinois and invest somewhere else. My parents plan to move to Tennessee in a few years and I've researched a little about be market there. If you could give me any input you have I would really appreciate it!
