Hi all, I have a home in Southern California which I purchased for about a million dollars in 2014. However, I will be moving to Northern California and wanted to get your thoughts on whether it is better to rent out my existing home in Southern CA or sell it. Because it is a million dollar home, I likely will not be able to have positive cash flow by renting but at the same time, i am also concerned that I would lose money when I sell it. Is it better to lose a few thousand dollars a year from renting it now in hopes of the house appreciating or take a loss with selling the home now? Any advice/ suggestions are appreciated?
