Incident - San Bernardino, CA

I allowed a man to stay in an RV on my property at no charge. His main responsibility was securing the premises. I payed him for 2 jobs, one doing drywall in the garage, and the painting the inside. Back in August 2020 he decided he wanted to get the swamp cooler working (i didnt ask him, and he is not allowed in the house other than for work), and he fell off the roof & has been out of work for months. 6 months forward, he is back to working, abusing the property (multiple cars, family members, dogs), staying in the home he fell off, and refuses to leave with a recent letter from a lawyer asking for damages for the fall.

Am i liable for his medical bills? Could he be considered an employee?

I never asked him to go up there, but he can certainly say I did.
I do have insurance on the property, but it is a renters policy, as we were planning to rent it out but got busy.

Is he considered a renter, when his occupancy was for an RV outside the property, but has recently moved in without my permission? I am worried about stating him NOT as tenant, and the insurance refusing to pay ...

TY BP Commuity!

whatever happened to your case?

what did you end up doing?

how did it all work out? i have been doing the same with another property, and noticed it is liability having them there. Do you have workers compensation for this worker? you said he was on the books ... thank you =)
