Hey BP!

Last weekend I wrapped up my licensing exams and am now eligible to find a brokerage to work under. My plan is to do part-time while I work my primary job, with the potential to jump in full time if things go well. Understanding being an agent is a business, is it typical for agents to set up an LLC to work under? Is there any benefit to doing so? I also wonder if brokerages are ok with their agents setting up an LLC. Interested in hearing your thoughts! PS, I live in Pennsylvania, if that matters. Thanks for your input!

My name is Ben. I live just outside of Philadelphia, PA and am beginning my real estate journey. I am a system engineer for an engineering consultant by day and have served in the Army for the last twelve years.

My father is a real estate developer which is where my interest in real estate began. I am interested in investing in buy and hold properties both within and around Philly. I came to BP because of the Brandon Turner books and have been listening to the podcast for quite some time. I decided I should finally introduce myself here because the thing I am missing in my daily life is a circle of friends and business acquaintances who share the same passion I have for real estate. I'd love to connect with anybody around my area and look forward to learning from all of you!
