I found it odd that so many people had so much good to day about Kiyosaki. From other reading IU've done on the internet and other groups I belong to, it's generally accepted that he's a fraud and that most of the life story in his book didn't actualy happen - there was no "Rich Dad", for example. Anyone else find that?

I just picked up 4 Hour Work Week, and I've read most of the books listed here. One that hasn't been listed and I recommend it highly is "The Wealthy Barber". The author is Canadian and it is geared to us puck-slappers, but the theory is sound.

Hi John:

Excellent question.

First off, I've still got a lot of friends and family in the area who can assist with the upkeep of the property(ies). Having qualified repair personnel in the family sure helps. Second, I've got a relationship there with a property management company who have handled rentals on behalf of distand landords before. Third, I have friends in the Asian University community who can help me out with a steady stream of reliable tenants (I just missed an opportunity to rent to three students from mainland China who need a place for the next 4 years). Bah!

Hello there:

I'm an accountant in Canada's Rocky Mountains. I'm about to buy a rental property in my home province of Newfoundland - in the evaluation phase right now.

I've been helping clients with their rentals for years and I think the time is right for me to diversify my own investment portfolio into real estate.

Thanks for having this forum here.
