Those stories are outrageous! It only took a few minutes to read.  I hope that kind of crap doesn't spread

It should say what state the llc is from. go to that states website and search

I don't have any rentals in Prescott, but my daughters friends family has 3 or more. They buy fixers near the downtown square , fix them up real cute and make a killing with vacation rentals.

I have a flooded out house in Spring, TX. No flood insurance. Property management company has stripped out the wet sheetrock etc. I am looking at possibly rebuilding if I can strike a deal with my lender and get an SBA disaster loan. Anybody on here who can give me some ballpark estimates on what it will cost to put it together would be appreciated. Maybe get a job . Kenswick Glen , 2 story house 1750 sq ft. Any idea what flood insurance may cost for a house that never flooded before but flooded this time? Is there a factor based on value?

Your servicer should tell you how much interest they reported  to the IRS. As to the discount, when you sell the note or it pays off, the difference between what you sold it for or what the payoff was, and your purchase price is your capital gain.

Have the tenants apply to FEMA for grant money. FEMA has lots of money to hand out to people after these natural disasters. Work with the tenant and if the lease is close to ending you most likely will be able to get a higher rent on renewal and they will get higher FEMA assistance payments. I worked with rentals after Katrina and it was FEMA rent payments for a couple years

It is my understanding that you can avoid all taxes on the house by moving in for 2 years. I have a plan to do that exact thing myself in about a year.
