Great information and sincere thanks to all for sharing the knowledge. As @eric and @david mentioned, I am looking more into modular homes that are built in the factory not the mobile homes. Labor cost is high in Seattle area, so getting it built in Texas or other areas and getting it shipped would be ideal if shipping cost is not too high.

@david, I am looking to build duplex or four-plex in Seattle area. Did you come across the any good modular home builders during your research?

@Greg Dickerson

That’s a very good point to consider. The whole idea is to save on construction cost. Thanks for the input

@Jaysen Medhurst

Thank you Jaysen. My whole intent is to save money by building not too expensive house in good location. Thank you for the references.

@Alex Furini

Thank you Alex. I am trying to find a good prefab company and contractors who can give me quote. I will keep you posted.

@Ronan Donnelly

Great suggestion Ronan. I still have to find contractors who can give me a quote on prefab homes. I will keep you posted on what we decide.

Hi, I am new to the biggerpockets and excited to be here.

Seattle is a expensive place to own a nice real estate for me. However, I have been attracted to the idea to building a large size pre-fab home so that I can house hack. If you have experience in prefab homes, could you please help me answer few questions.

1. What are the pros and cons of buying land and build prefab home?

2. Would bank provide loan for both the land and construction?

3. Is it a good option for house hack?
