I would be interested in a group of this type. Currently I attend a group that is similar called the Gaithersburg Investor meetup. No pitching allowed and is fairly free flowing format.

I have a client that is interested in a property that is up for action. The auction is in person (only option to bid; no online). The listing side are taking pre-action bids that can be accepted and cancel the auction. I would like to speak to someone with experience in this area so I can know how to best strategize for my client to be in a competitive position.

I am currently renting in Montgomery County, MD and my lease is due to expire at the end of the month. I have been a tenant since 2009 and my landlord has held the same deposit for 3 different lease terms. As we have been discussing the return of my deposit (the townhouse only has normal wear and tear) my landlord has disclosed that my deposit is not in an escrow account. It has gain literally pennies in interest. I have attempted to communicate with my landlord that the money should have been growing by at least 3% per year but she doesn't seem to understand. She is elderly and hard to communicate with. I have sent the link to the state website showing proof of this but I don't seem to be getting anywhere. Any suggestions on how to handle this? Thanks!
