Thank you, Brad, for the advice. One key detail I neglected to mention is that my wife and I are also hoping to stay as close as possible to the University of Utah since we are both students there and our work is there as well. I know that Ogden is not very far away, but I take call at the University Hospital and am required to be there within 45 minutes of the call. Unfortunately, we do have to live a little closer.

I am just starting out as an investor. My experience is little to none on the matter. My wife and I live in Salt Lake City, Utah. We have just over $18,000 saved up and are considering our options. My current mindset is on buying a duplex or house with a mother-in-law apartment. We would live in the smaller of the two options and rent out the other half. Are we looking in the right place? Should we change our game plan?

Thank you.
