Post: Property Management licensing in North Carolina

Hi everyone,

I had a quick question about licensing for property managers in North Carolina. I have been managing my mom's properties since my early days of college, and now as a graduate I was looking to transfer that skill into a business that would help me save and create cash flow to purchase my own rental properties.

Recently I was doing some research and based on my understanding it is required for property managers to be licensed brokers in NC. Is this true? If so are there any loopholes that would allow me to manage properties without a license? Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, my name is Avery Brendle.

I am a recent college graduate of App State currently working in cybersecurity in the Durham area. I am looking to learn about the Durham market and the successes and failures others have encountered here. I would love to network, and hear from you all.

Current goal: to own my first rental property in the area by the end of 2020.

Thanks in advance!!

Avery
